2008 ANNUAL STATEWIDE TRAINING CONFERENCE The
SECOND
Annual Minnesota
Habitat Statewide Training Conference – Outstanding
Leadership Excellence “OLE”
– held in
April 2008 attracted over 130 Habitat for Humanity Staff, Board Members
and Volunteers with a variety of session topics on Construction, Church
Relations, Fund Raising, Family Support/Selection/Training, House
Pricing and Long-term Affordability. According to the evaluations, the
overall Conference and training sessions was extremely well received.
Of the 27 sessions offered, 19 made the “most
valuable” list reinforcing that participants appreciated the
wide-range of high quality sessions. In addition, we awarded the Second
Annual Habitat Minnesota Best Practices Awards to the following
Affiliates:
The 2008 Habitat Minnesota Best Practices Awards winners: Construction – “Green Building”: Lakes Area Family Matters – Finding Qualified Applicants: Rochester Area Fund Development – InKind Materials and Labor: Rice County Strategic Affiliate Operations – Circle of Life: Douglas County Perseverance: Winona County and Duluth Area At the 2007 Annual Conference – “Achieving Excellence” the following Best Practices Awards were presented: The 2007 Habitat Minnesota Best Practices Awards winners: Financial Management – Cash Flow Budgets: Itasca County Financial Management – House Pricing: East Central Minnesota Mortgage Portfolio Management: Winona County Fundraising – Individual Donations: North St. Louis County Fundraising – Church Donations: Central Minnesota Fundraising – Special Events: Rochester Family Selection – Income Verification: West Central Minnesota We look forward to continue to offer the Annual Conference and Mini-Conferences throughout the year to help our Minnesota Affiliates succeed as well as a chance to get together to network and share stories. Training and Technical Assistance Committee of Habitat Minnesota
With HFHI’s recent endorsement of training by State Support Organizations, Habitat Minnesota formed the Training and Technical Assistance Committee (TTAC) in 2006. The TTAC’s mission is to provide guidance and oversight and to monitor HFH-MN’s performance relative to the provision of training and technical assistance to the affiliates, including the planning and implementation of the Statewide Training Conference. The TTAC is composed of the following HFH-MN Board and non-Board members: Paul Knuti (Chair) – North St. Louis County HFH Board Member Al Johnson – West Central Minnesota HFH Board Member and ED emeritus Stephanie Orr – Winona County HFH Staff Member Anne Walters – Central Minnesota HFH Staff Member Kevin Worden – Rochester HFH Executive Director |
