IN-KIND MATERIAL DONATIONS Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota facilitates the donation of building materials to Habitat affiliates across the state. There are two major donations programs: Valspar Paint – For many years, Valspar Paint has provided Minnesota’s Habitat for Humanity affiliates with donated product. Valspar has a standing commitment to provide the following products to affiliates: Wall and Trim Interior Eggshell Latex Paint— Tinted L9C9 If you would like to order these products for use by your affiliate, or you need further information about this program, please contact Pete Kennelly at the Twin Cities Habitat Warehouse at 612-30571580. Forests for Humanity – For many years, the Minnesota Society of American Foresters and Habitat Minnesota have partnered with timber owners, loggers and forest products manufacturers in the Forests for Humanity program. Forests for Humanity incorporates donated wood products into Minnesota’s Habitat homes and raises awareness of this renewable resource. Habitat homeowners and other volunteers assist with the re-planting of harvested sites. Forests for Humanity has provided substantial donations to the 1,000th and 1,500th homes built in the state of Minnesota as well as a number of Women’s Build homes. The next scheduled major harvest should occur in the winter of 2007–2008 at a site outside of Grand Rapids. Materials from this harvest may be available as soon as the 2008 building season. These donations and discounts help us cut costs and build more housing in our community.
